Decoupage Kettle

Did you know, who invented now very popular craft of decoupage? The origin of decoupage is thought to be East Siberian tomb art. Nomadic tribes used cut out felts to decorate the tombs of their deceased. From Siberia, the practice came to China, and by 12th century, cut out paper was being used to decorate lanterns, windows, boxes and other object.
Hello folks, today I have a very beautiful project to share with you, Decoupage Kettle.
I am in absolute love how this has turned out to be. A simple aluminium kettle to a beautiful home decor. I have bought it's base, the kettle from local market. I have applied gesso (from Papericious) on the base surface. Please, make sure your surface is clean before you apply gesso on any of your project. I then applied mod podge, decoupage napkin over it and finally sealed it all up with varnish( from itsy bitsy). I have applied chalk paints over the areas where i didn't use the napkin.
Did you knew, In 1967, Jan Wetstone invented Mod Podge in Atlanta while experimenting short cuts to decoupage in her antique shop.

Finally, have ball chain and stone lace to add the extra bling. Hope you guys liked it. Please, share your love in comments below.
